The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest and the Kalloni EIC in an effort to raise awareness about the Lesvos Geopark and the wetlands of the island invite you to take part in field trips in the island's protected areas. This time we will be visiting in one of the most important wetlands of western Lesvos, the Psaropotamos river in Skala Eresos. The site is part of the SPA GR4110010 «SW Peninsula - Petrifed Forest" and at the same time the SAC GR4110010 «Western Peninsula- Lesvos Petrified Forest".
Our new field activity will take place in Psaropotamos River (Skala Eresos) this Sunday November 7, 2021 and one can participate in one of the following groups: 8:00 to 9:30 OR 9:30 to 11:00
The participant groups will not exceed 10 persons and to take part pre-registration is required. Adults and children (aged 8 and up) can participate and admission to the event is free.
The ringing session is co-organized with the Hellenic Bird Ringing Center (HBRC). Bird ringers are under license by the Greek Ministry for the Environment.
All necessary Covid-19 prevention protocols will be followed.
