With particular success, the birdwatching and information activity of the Panaretio Gymnasium of Kalloni was completed at the Environmental Information Center of Kalloni and at the wetland in Skala Kalloni.
The students were guided to the exhibition of the Environmental Information Center of Kalloni where they were informed about the wetlands of the island and their value, as well as the biodiversity they support by the executives of the biodiversity / geodiversity team of the Museum Ms. Tsonidou Evita and Mr. Delligiannis Angelou. Then there was a presentation on the bird species of the wetlands and actions implemented by the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest / Kalloni Environmental Information Center.
The students had the opportunity to observe various bird species through the special bird identification cards of the wetlands of Lesvos and also in their natural environment, learning about their characteristics and their migration during bird watching at the mouth of the Tsiknias river in Skala Kallonis .
Birdwatching was carried out with the special equipment (binoculars, telescopes) exploring the variety of birds found in the wetland, while at the same time the students were made aware of the preservation of the natural wealth of Lesvos.
